Recall Number 6790046 - Check windshield, replace if necessary
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 176 - A-Classes, the bonding for the lower area of the windshield on your vehicle may not comply with the specifications. In the event of an accident, the windshield could separate from the body in the affected area.
In this case, a front passenger airbag triggered in an accident may not be supported by the windshield as intended. As a consequence, the protective effect of the front passenger airbag may be impaired, which could increase the risk of injury for the front passenger. In addition, the legal requirements may not be met.

FEBRUARY
Recall number 4692232 - Rework steering column -
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 253 - GLC; 205 - C-Class the steering column may not be sufficiently grounded. It is possible that, in combination with internal damage to the connections in the steering column switch module, the driver airbag could be triggered without obvious cause due to electrostatic discharge because of this.
This may result in a risk of injury for the driver along with an increase in the risk of an accident. An airbag warning message in the instrument cluster as well as the red airbag indicator lamp display the presence of damage to the driver beforehand. We will therefore establish sufficient grounding for the steering column on your vehicle as a precautionary measure.

Recall number 6790045 - Check windshield bonding, rework if necessary
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 166 - GLE 250 d the bonding of the windshield may not comply with our specifications. Due to firewall damping that was not produced within specified dimensions, bonding for the lower area of the windshield could possibly be impaired.
Because of this, a front passenger airbag that is deployed during a head-on crash may not be braced as planned. This could impair the restraint effect of the front passenger airbag and this increase the risk of injury for the passenger.

Recall number 6990037 - Rework performance seat and replace roll cage
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 190 - AMG GT R with track package the combination of performance seat and roll cage might not meet legal requirements.
In case of a crash with the seat in the farthest rearward and upper position, a contact between the head rest and the roll cage cannot be ruled out. This could increase the risk of injuries to the occupant.

Recall number 4692150 - Rework steering column
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 117 - CLA Class; 176 - A-Class; 246 - B-Class; 156 - GLA; 205 - C-Class; 253 - GLC the steering column may not be sufficiently grounded. It is possible that, in combination with internal damage to the connections in the steering column switch module, the driver airbag may trigger as a result without obvious cause in the case of electrostatic discharge.
This may result in a risk of injury for the driver as well as increase the risk of an accident. Damage is indicated to the driver in advance via an airbag warning message in the instrument cluster as well as the red AIR BAG OFF warning lamp. We will therefore establish sufficient grounding for the steering column in your vehicle as a precautionary measure.

Recall number 9290050 - Replace seat belt
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 213 - E-Class the propellant mixing ratio of certain seat belt tensioner squibs in your vehicle may not meet the specifications. In an accident with activation of the left seat belt tensioner in the rear, this may not deploy.
As a result, the restraint effect of this seat belt tensioner would not be ensured. This may increase the risk of injury to the occupants. As part of a recall, we will therefore replace the potentially affected seat belt in your vehicle as a precautionary measure. The required work for this will take approx. 1.5 hours.

Recall Number 8295004 - Update Audio 20 control unit software
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Models; 205 C-Class and 253 GLC, it is possible on vehicles with Audio 20 and automatic child seat recognition, the status of the front passenger airbags displayed in the centre console might not be indicated correctly. In this case, the vehicle users might not be informed correctly of the actual activation status of the front passenger airbags.
In the case of an accident, the user might not react adequately to a potentially incorrect occupant classification, which could increase the risk of injury for the occupant in the event of an accident. As a precautionary measure, we plan to update the head unit software of the affected vehicles.

Recall Number 6990038 - Rework trim on right and left C-pillar
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model X253 - GLC-Class belt buckle of the outer-rear seats may be drawn into the gap between the C-pillar trim and rear side panelling and cannot be taken out again without aids in your vehicle.
In this case, the seat belt is not available at the affected seat. The fault can solely occur as part of the seatbelt fastening/release process. As part of a recall, we will therefore rework the trim on the left and right C-pillar as a precautionary measure in your vehicle. The required work will take approximately 1 hour.

Recall Number 3396938 - Check front axle shaft, rework if necessary
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 463 - G-Class retaining ring of the right front axle shaft was possibly incorrectly mounted in your vehicle. In this case, the right front axle shaft is not correctly secured. This could lead to damage to the front axle differential.
In this connection, a short-term locking of the right front wheel cannot be excluded; the risk of accident thus increases. We will therefore check the retaining ring of the right front axle shaft as a precautionary measure in your vehicle and rework if necessary

Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 463 - G-Class the transmission oil lines on your vehicle may have been manufactured outside of the specification. In this case, the vehicle may lose traction due to the oil loss in the transmission.
As a result, the escaping oil may leak onto the roadway, thereby posing an increased risk of accident for following traffic. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that the escaping transmission oil comes into contact with hot component parts of the exhaust system and ignites. We will check the transmission oil lines on your vehicle as a precautionary measure and replace them if necessary.

Recall Number 2196501 - Trunnion stiffener bolt looseness
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Fuso Models FN25-270, FV26-350 with rear tandem-axle and leaf suspensions, the shape of the radius rod brackets mounted to the trunnion crossmember is improper. In this case, the input from the radius rod during driving may deform the crossmember and the bolts securing the crossmember and reinforcement may become loose.
As a result, if the vehicle continues to be used in this condition, the bolts may break and the crossmember and reinforcement may crack. In the worst case, the fastener for the radius rod may be disengaged from the crossmember, which impairs the driving stability.

Recall Number 9192042 - Rework seat backrest frame for driver’s and front passenger seat

Recall Number 4290299 - Brake connection and compressed air filler connection in front
Daimler AG has determined that on a certain Model 437.436 with code B68 the connections of the compressed-air lines at the shuttle valve of the brake system might be swapped on certain Mercedes-Benz Unimog vehicles. If the brake system is intact, this will not affect the vehicle's braking functions. However, should brake circuit 1 fail due to a different cause, this could result in the complete failure of the service brake. In this case, the vehicle could be braked only with the parking brake. This could increase the risk of an accident.

Recall Number 5498856 - Steering column switch module
Daimler AG has determined that the driver airbag in the model series Vito/V-Class (model series 447) vehicles transferred to you could be triggered without obvious cause due to electrostatic discharge if the steering column is not sufficiently grounded, and the conductor tracks within the volute spring cassette in the steering column switch module could be damaged at the same time in this area.
As a result, triggering of the driver airbag without obvious cause could both increase the risk of injury to the driver as well as the danger of a possible accident.

Daimler AG has determined that on a certain Model 222 S - Class the propellant mixing ratio of certain seat belt tensioner squibs in your vehicle may not meet the specifications. In an accident with activation of the left seat belt tensioner in the rear, this may not deploy.

Recall Number 4094054 - Perform SCN coding in the tire pressure monitor control unit
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model X Class, there may be a software error in the tire pressure monitoring system (code RY2).
In this case, if the tire pressure falls below the minimum level required, the intended warning message may not be shown in instrument cluster as a result of this error. Driving with tire pressure that is too low causes increased and/or uneven tire wear and changes the steering and braking behavior of the vehicle. This may increase the risk of an accident.

OCTOBER
Recall Number 4290137 - Update ESP control unit software
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 205 – C-Classes, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) software does not correspond to the specifications and the wheel speed signals may not be able to be processed correctly. This is indicated to you by a warning tone, a warning lamp and a warning message on the instrument cluster.
In this case, the wheels could lock up as a result under very heavy braking. This would increase the risk of an accident occurring. The service brake would always remain fully functional irrespective of this. The systems become available again after the ignition is switched off and back on.

Recall Number 889060 -Replace Air Deflectors
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Models: Actros 963, Antos 963 and Arocs 964 in arctic white, the outer section of the front-end flap air deflector could detach partially or entirely from the inner section or vehicle. It is possible that the clips could slowly detach, in part due to the wind loads that arise during operation.
As a result, production faults at the supplier (process fluctuations when extruding, insufficient clipping of the outer section to the inner section) and additional stresses arising during operation (vibrations, wind gusts, driving through tunnels) may additionally affect the component part unfavourably. As part of our planned recall campaign, we intend to install a new air deflector on both sides of potentially affected vehicles as a precautionary measure.

Recall Number 4692237 - Replace airbag unit on steering wheel
Daimler AG has determined that on certain Model 205 - C-Class, it is possible that a certain batch of driver airbag modules having a preproduction status were installed due to a deviation in the production process. It cannot be ruled out on these airbags that minor damage may occur to the air bag following elevated mileage due to chafing on the gas generator.
In the case of an accident, the restraint effect of the driver's airbag may as a result be impaired, this could increase the risk of injury for the driver. As part of our planned recall campaign, we will therefore replace the driver's airbag in your vehicle as a precautionary measure.
