Recall Number: 1892005
Stop plugs in engine
Daimler AG has determined that on certain vehicles, that the material of two closure plugs on the engine might not withstand the maximum loads while driving.
Thus, the material of the closure plugs might fail as a result of high engine oil pressures, which occur especially during dynamic driving. It cannot be ruled out that engine oil leaks from the plugs. Leaking oil might get onto the road, increasing the risk of a crash for the following traffic. If the engine oil level were to fall below a certain limit, a red warning message would be illuminated in the instrument cluster. If the warning message were to be ignored, the engine could run dry. In this case, a stalling of the vehicle cannot be ruled out due to an engine damage.

Torque of threaded connections for exhaust gas turbocharger oil lines
Daimler AG has determined that, the verification in document form for the correct threaded connection of the turbocharger oil feed as well as oil return lines may be missing in certain vehicles of the model series C-, E-, S-Class as well as GLC and CLS (model series 205, 213, 238, 222, 253, 257) with 4-cylinder gasoline engine. Due to the missing documentation, no confirmation exists that the threaded connections for the turbocharger oil feed as well as oil return lines were correctly carried out during the assembly process.
If the threaded connections do not comply with the specification, the mechanical connections of the turbocharger oil feed line as well as the oil return line may not be permanently ensured. In the case of a loosened threaded connection, oil may leak out at the turbocharger oil feed and/or oil return line. As a result, it may come into contact with hot component parts. In this case, a risk of fire cannot be excluded.
As part of a recall, we will therefore check the threaded connections of the turbocharger oil feed as well as oil return lines in your vehicle as a precautionary measure and correct if necessary. The required work will take up to one hour.
