In the wake of COVID-19, the need for the adherence to sound corporate governance, espoused through King IV, is irrefutable. The pandemic has changed the manner of operating in the automotive industry through disrupted global supply chains, material declines and uncertainty in sales figures and accelerated the rate of transformation of mobility. As Mercedes-Benz, we believe that only those who act in an ethically and legally responsible manner remain successful in the long term – this is especially true in times of upheaval and change as we are currently experiencing. The end of the COVID-19 pandemic is unknown; further necessitating the need to adhere to principles and leading practices in sound corporate governance to navigate these unprecedented times. Looking ahead, our goals are clear: MBSA looks to build on its 68 years of manufacturing history and also continue to make vehicles that inspire our customers, both today and tomorrow. Our goals also come with clear responsibilities: we will premise all we do on integrity and compliance at the core our corporate.
